English Premiership

March 14th, Wednesday

Manchester City vs. Chelsea
4 PM, FSC

Citeh's slump looks set to continue as they face the big boys in Chelsea. Chelski should be reeling due to Michael Essien signing on for 5 more years. Due to their results as of late, I am assuming Damarcus Beasley will get a run-around on the flanks. If he, in fact, does play, I can guarantee a decent game.
PREDICTION: Chelsea 1, Man City 1 - Drogba strikes first but new signing Emile Mpenza says hello Belgian-style. Whatever that means.

March 17th, Saturday

Reading vs. Portsmouth
11AM, FSC

Reading would really like to get back on track. Unfortunately, they've been trying that for a good while now. Who better to do it against, though? Whoever wins this might be provided the momentum to grab a European spot. My bet is on Stevie Coppell, Dave Kitson, Kevin Doyle, and crew. Do it for Bobby C.
PREDICTION: 1-0, Seol.

Blackburn vs. West Ham
1PM, FSC

I won't comment much on this as I am afraid if I do West Ham might actually win.
PREDICTION: Blackburn 2, West Ham 2 - WHU fights and Blackburn's momentum carries over. Tevez scores 1, Davenport the other. McCarthy and Bentley strike for the Rovers.

Tottenham vs. Watford

3:30PM, FSC

Watch this. Watford will pull something out of their cracks for this one. DeMerit might make another couple of mistakes but ultimately I can see a...uh...um...tie. Plus, I think Robbie Keane has to run out of magic at some point. Only problem for Watford is well, Berbatov.
PREDICTION: T-ham 1, Watford 1 - Bouazza scores again and Michael Dawson taps in a Berbatov header.

March 18th, Sunday

Everton vs. Arsenal
12PM, FSC

Arsenal will want to take out their frustration on the Toffees, but I'm thinking Timmy Howard won't let them. They will get frustrated once again as each shot sails wide, hits the bar, or is stuffed by Howard. No Henry, out of the Champions League, Arsene Wenger must be pissed. Look for some young'uns to get a run in this one for the Gunners. Andy Johnson will try and do his scoring thing again.
PREDICTION: 2-1, A. Johnson scores 2, Rosicky hits a long-range shot that looks identical to the one he hit against the U.S. in this past summer's World Cup.

CONCACAF Champions' Cup

Wednesday, March 14th

Houston vs. Pachuca

First Leg, Semifinal
8:30PM, FSC

Houston overcame the Costa Rican curse and looks to make the possibility of an All-American Champions Cup final come true. I think we will see that a couple more weeks of training will have done the Dynamo good. No reason they shouldn't compete for the final.

Thursday, March 15th

D.C. United vs. Chivas Guadalajara

First Leg, Semifinal
8PM, FSC

Luciano Emilio is seeking one of the best starts of any MLS acquisition in recent years. We'll see if Chivas' backs can take care of him and the Latin Triangle. My guess is they have some trouble.
PREDICTION: D.C. 2, Chivas 1...the goal-scoring prowess continues, Gomez 1 and Josh Gros puts in a 20-yarder for the win.
