I have been swamped the past couple days - moving, working, writing, but you can always count on me to keep up with transfer market.
Carlos Tevez is open for a West Ham stay. Good news for the Hammers but overshadowing this decision right now is the acquisition of Scott Parker, who was tremendously consistent for a notoriously inconsistent Newcastle squad. The figure doesn't reach the $20 million Chelsea paid to pry him away from Charlton several years ago, but it's close. Parker's arrival signals that young Nigel Reo-Coker's transfer request will most likely be fulfilled. Possibly Coker could end up shoring an already decent Everton Toffee midfield. Everton is also looking seriously at Jason Koumas, a long time all-star in the Championship. As if they weren't linked enough to transfer targets, the Toffees also have American and Sheffield Wednesday right full-back Frankie Simek on their shortlist. A figure topping $6 million has been thrown about (but that's old news).
You can bet money on the fact that you'll be seeing Norwegian Morten Gamst-Pedersen in another jersey next year. The Blackburn Rovers have done well to hold on to him as long as they did, but it seems interest has reached its' pinnacle and it might be time to sell and take the profit. Skysports is reportedly saying that all five big Premiership clubs are after him. Sounds like this Pedersen has reached the level that big Chelsea man and fellow Norwegian Tore Andre Flo once did.
There will be more to come later and I promise more features will grace these pages as soon as my schedule dies down juuuuust a little bit.
