Hat-trick Watch: A pointless feature involving the recording of hat-tricks internationally...

AUGUST 17, 2007

FCD Vaduz 5, Servette 1
Swiss Super League

Odirlei de Souza Gaspar (that's a long one...) had three in a thorough domination of the once powerful Swiss Servette squad. All three came in the last 40 minutes of the gamem, effectively putting the game out of reach. The Brazilian is enjoying his first season with Leichtensteiner club in a Swiss league.

RKC Waalwijk 6, Cambuur 3
Eerstedivisie (Dutch Second Division)

The shootout was highlighted by Kevin Vink's hat-trick - 2 straight, 1 penalty - which helped RKC get a three-point start to their quest to re-promotion after last year's failure. A season-long reserve last season, Vink has clearly made a case for a first-team place this season.

Zwolle 3, Eindhoven 3
Eerstedivisie (Dutch Second Division)

Italian-Belgian Fabio Caracciolo struck for three to ensure at least a point . The striker hit first, but Zwolle then proceeded to pour on three unanswered goals to put Eindhoven in quite a hole. Caracciolo was apparently ready to dig them out.

If I missed any today...let me know.
