Los Angeles 3, Red Bull New York 1 (AET)

OPEN CUP

A missed penalty kick (an unfortunate Metrobull tradition) and a lot of possession but no real desire to finish overshadowed the MLS debut of Juan Pablo Angel. He scored in extra time, but only after Los Angeles had gone up 2-0. The Galaxy ended up holding on 3-1 and kept the Red Bulls out of the US Open Cup.

LAG: Landon Donovan, Santino Quaranta, Kyle Martino
RBNY: Juan Pablo Angel

Pablo Richetti has received his work visa and should be ready to play for FC Dallas in the next week or so.

Joseph Ngwenya and Alejandro Moreno (foul sufferer extroadinaire and occasional goalscorer) have swapped respective teams. Moreno is now a Crew member and Ngwenya will don the orange for the Dynamo. Dominic Kinnear has filled his transaction quota for the next 30 years in the past 2 weeks (first shipping Goldthwaite to Toronto and now Moreno).

Thanks to a FC Dallas superfan, Carlos Ruiz has gone a.w.o.l. yet again. The next logical step (or illogical) seems to be to get rid of him. It will be interesting to see what Steve Morrow does. At what point is enough well...enough.
