Troy Perkins made some fantastic saves, but unfortunately missed a routine ball (due to rain, letting it slip through his hands) that gave Chivas Guadalajara the permanent lead 2-1. The first Chivas goal was also on a defensive miscue. Some other opportunities for Chivas, however, should have gone in. Regardless, Steve Goff predicted right (daaaaaamn him), a Chivas 2-1 win.
In good news, Emilio is not a fluke and has already proven himself against top competition and new acquisition Fred ain't too shabby himself. The goal for D.C. was a beautiful and well positioned psuedo-bicyle from the Bolivian Jaime Moreno. Jamil Walker almost had an equalizer late in the game when his "put-back" header hit off a Chivas defender's head and clanked against the post. It was a turbulent day.
Chivas move on to the CONCACAF Champions Cup final to play against the winner of Thursday's Houston - Pachuca match-up. Here we go, Dynamo.
I will have a more detailed outlook later today.
